Who is the God of the United States?

Every nation has a god, today in 2025, just as did all the nation-states that made up Canaan as Abraham first entered it 4000 years ago.

We are created to worship God, and worship we will, either the true God of the Bible or some other god we have chosen/erected ourselves. If we are Christians, we have answered that question—personally. The question, however, remains: which god will we, AS A NATION, choose to worship. Our primary choices today are Jehovah, the God of the Bible, Allah, the Muslim god, or man himself, the god of Marxism and evolution.

In every country of the world, there will always be a battle for supremacy between Jehovah and the god of all other religions, SATAN HIMSELF.  A politically pluralistic country, as ours constitutionally is, allows all these satanic religions to exist together with Christianity, creating a never-ending war. However, as Jesus said, there can be no neutrality in this battle. Eventually, in time, there will be a winner.

“This is war, and there is no neutral ground. If you’re not on my side, you’re the enemy; if you’re not helping, you’re making things worse” (Luke 11:23 MSG). This battle will continue until God’s people eventually put down Satan’s last-gasp rebellion against Jesus’ decisive and final victory at the cross.

Last week, we discussed how the Hebrew Republic, our biblical model for civil government, had complete unity of its citizens, with regard to the God they worshiped.  Every Israelite was a circumcised member of the Hebrew Covenant and worshipped Jehovah, the God of the Jews.

However, there were many others who lived in Israel who were not Jews. They were called “sojourners,” and they had all the same benefits every Jew enjoyed. They lived under the same civil laws, experiencing the fruits of living in the country ruled by Jehovah God.

These sojourners were welcomed to the Hebrew Republic, and not discriminated against in any way, no matter their god. They were free to enjoy all the privileges of the Israelites and assimilate into Jewish culture, but THEY WERE NOT CITIZENS!  They had to claim Jehovah as their God and be circumcised to be citizens. These converts were called “proselytes.” Sojourners could not vote or hold office but proselytes could!

Sojourners could hold in their hearts whatever god they chose, but they could not “go public” and attempt to spread knowledge about their god to others. That would be insurrection and treason—advocating another king over Israel than Jehovah. The biblical punishment is death.

This is the biblical model for civil government—A THEOCRACY, with Jehovah God as King.  Notice I said a theocracy is the “biblical model.” This was the civil government structure for Israel from the giving of God’s Law in about 1450 B.C. to the Israelites rejection of God as their King, in about 1050 B.C..

“Theocracy” today  is a reviled, dirty word. It inevitably calls up images of Islam, the religion that claims its form of civil government is a theocracy. And it is, with Satan as its ruling god!

We, who are native Americans in the United States, are now naively bringing this false theocracy into our country, allowing it to get a foothold here in our cities. A vivid example is the fact that Dearborn, Michigan is now 50% Muslim, with Muslim political leadership. The likely next Mayor of New York is also a Muslim, who openly announces his intention of radically changing New York. Also, we have allowed rabid, Muslim, alien immigrants, who hate our country, to actually serve in Congress and make our laws!

Yes, they have a vision of the United States being a Satan-ruled “theocracy.” They have given their lives, and the lives of all others they have influenced, to this vision. All the Middle East countries but Israel are now ruled by Muslims.

The church sleeps away, congratulating themselves on growing congregations and programs to feed the poor while never addressing our unbiblical civil government. Our constitutional political pluralism allows, even invites, “the wolf into the hen-house,” allowing this to happen while the church slumbers away without a peep.

I believe it is time for the church to recognize that the Founding Fathers, for whatever reason, gave us a Constitution that completely surrenders the Christian foundation they received from their colonial background. Twelve of the thirteen original colonies (all but Rhode Island) refer to the Christian God in their founding and governing documents, while our Constitution does not mention Him at all, but is intentionally pluralistic!

Although our Constitution is the greatest civil ruling document ever written, I believe there are three glaring statements that decisively prevent America from being a de jure (legal), biblical theocracy. Next week I want to examine those three sections.

In case you would like a head-start, here is a free, fuller, more complete look at the topic of biblical theocracies; a, 75 page PDF copy of my book on the topic: Let Earth Receive Her King!
